Scuba Training

Looking to take a dive class? Divetech offers everything under the sun. Non-certified divers can take part in a Discover Scuba Session or get fully certified as an Open Water Diver. Already certified? Continue your progression with your Advanced Open Water or Rescue Courses. Challenge yourself with a Specialty Course to improve your dive skills and learn more about the underwater world. Or if you’re really looking to kick it up a notch, become a dive pro through our Divemaster Program.

If you're not a certified diver, but you'd like to try it without taking the class, Divetech offers Discover Scuba Diving sessions.

The program takes half a day and includes classroom time, equipment set up, practice in the pool and then out on an ocean adventure dive!

Discover Scuba Diving is open to ages 10 and up, with all equipment, training and diving included. For the younger ones in the family who want to try diving, ask about our kids programs.

The Advanced Open Water (AOW) is an ideal program to continue your personal development as a proficient diver. As long as you have your Open Water certification, it is never too early or too late to advance your training.

Each of the five dives that you do will focus on a specific subject. For example navigation or deep diving. Choose the subjects that appeal to you the most, whether you want to dial in your buoyancy or just have fun buzzing around on our underwater scooters, Divetech can make the program for you.

The AOW course completes the theory online through PADI’s eLearning facility. The emphasis on practical development means that you get to spend your Cayman vacation exactly where you should be… in the water!

If you'd like to become a certified scuba diver, the Open Water Diver certification is your first step. This allows you to scuba dive with your buddy without professional supervision.

There are a number of ways to take your Open Water class, including e-learning, and referral training. With e-learning, you complete the academic portion of your class on your computer in the comfort of your own home. With referral training, you complete your academic and/or pool sessions at your local dive shop and complete your in-water training in Grand Cayman with Divetech. Full classes can also be done at Divetech.

Open-water classes can generally be completed in 2-3 days depending on the method you select. It can get confusing, so contact us for more information and advice on the best path for you.

Nitrox enables divers to lengthen no-decompression profiles so that they can spend more time in the water. The increased oxygen content reduces nitrogen loading, shortens required surface intervals, and gives an added safety buffer for your dives.

Nitrox Enriched Air courses can be completed at Divetech in a half day class, or you can complete the Nitrox eLearning online prior to arrival and then finish up with the practical part when on-site. Once you finish the nitrox academic portion, Divetech will be ready to take you nitrox diving and issue your certification card.

The half-day Nitrox certification course with Divetech includes a manual, instruction, certification fee, and 2 free nitrox tanks. The eLearning Nitrox program includes 1 free nitrox tank.
